#7700 - #10
Rich, poor, educated, uneducated, immigrant or citizen, welfare recipient, etc.; we think about things in accordance with whatever we are familiar….. (our “environment”, in which we live…)
Our judgments, our conclusions are based on our “environment”.
Our friends, our relationships, all are a part of where we live.
We have a tendency to choose our friends from our “environment”.
We tend to base our conclusions on the familiarity of our “environment”.
If it feels friendly, it becomes a reality!
If we think as our friends think, it becomes a reality!
To a large degree, we become victims to our “environment”.
We make judgments, we make conclusions, based upon where we are in life…. whether educated or uneducated, etc. We tend to see things based upon where we are in life, not scientifically, not sterilely, not strictly on the merits! We tend to color things. We do not try to adhere to a principle of “merit based” logic.
We substitute the media, the pundits, the politicians, the “thinkers”, for our own logic. …… It’s easier, it takes less work!
If we make this “substitution”, can we honestly blame anybody for a poor result?
Are we satisfied “blaming” someone, or are we only satisfied if we fix the result? …(Think about this!)
Or, are we too lazy, or otherwise “occupied” to even consider this? Do our “jobs” or our “kids” or some other diversions so occupy our minds that we cannot even “consider” these ideas….. “Are we satisfied “blaming” someone, or are we only satisfied if we fix the result?”
If we think as the “herd” thinks; that is from where we are, (in our present “environment”, that is….), can we ever approach anything from a “merit based logic”? If we are among the familiar crowd, can we escape from their “herd” approach? Can we think “independently”? ….
It is devoutly to be wished!
If we are doomed to the uneducated, or the brain filled philosophers, or to the foreign “culture” oriented; can we ever have a “debate” or have a “conversation” without the insistence on a particular point of view? Can we begin to “share” ideas? We don’t have to agree or disagree, we only want to “share”… be understood! We can agree or disagree on our own time!!
After all, that is the meaning of a “debate” or of having a “meaningful discussion”!
