Definitions - #301 - #49 - Is being “independent” a false idea?

#7700 - #28

“I like being independent!”
“I vote independently!”
“I want to be independent!”

Yeh! But what does that really “mean”.

Independent of what? …… all help… my friend’s attitudes and information … the government and it’s protections … all rules and regulations?
Should I be without the police?...without any rules or regulations?

What would life be like without any rules and regulations?
Suppose murder was without penalties? ….Suppose red lights meant nothing? ….Suppose, suppose, etc.a

“Independent” of what? What rules and regulations? …Who’s to choose? …Who chooses them?

It’s O.K. to be “independent” but a few of these questions must be answered.
It’s a “nice” idea but it’s meaningless!

So it is with much of the rhetoric you hear. It means nothing!

I would never vote for a Democrat/Republican, I want to be an “independent”!
What do I want to be free of that’s Democratic? What do I want to be free of that’s Republican?
That’s a whole other story! ….. The answers to these questions are “most revealing”!
But, to be an “independent”; means that some of these questions must be answered! Otherwise “to be an independent” is meaningless!!

Is being an “Independent a false idea?” …..Not if a few of these questions are answered!

Note I didn’t say “all” of these questions…. Just a “few”!

After all, one wouldn’t enter a “meaningless conversation!......
